LED lamp beads moisture-proof and treatment methods

 

 

Recently, the cold spring in the south is approaching, many manufacturing enterprises are affected, the main reason is that the production of raw materials in the production process of moisture changes, so LED lamp beads will be damp? What impact will it have on the production of the display screen after being damp?

 

01. Will the LED lamp beads be damp?

 

If it is placed in a dark and damp corner for a long time, the LED lamp beads may be damp. In the process of being damp, some trace moisture in the water vapor and air will be brought into the LED package, the reflectors of the LED bracket are silver-plated, the silver will be oxidized, and the silver compounds generated are black, reducing or losing the reflective ability, resulting in the reduction of the luminous flux of the LED, and these moisture will produce high pressure when the high humidity in the processing and welding process will cause high pressure to cause damage to the moisture-sensitive device when it undergoes the high temperature process, which is a very serious impact. If there is moisture, the moisture expands during welding, and the wick is prone to micro-bursting, resulting in the fracture of the inner core.

 

02. Moisture-proof treatment method of LED lamp beads

 

1. LED lamp beads are packaged in moisture-proof and anti-static aluminum foil bags, and air leakage caused by squeezing and piercing the packaging bag should be avoided during handling;

 

2. In the wet season, when the moisture-proof bag is not opened, the recommended storage conditions are: temperature < 30 °C, humidity < 60%RH (preferably stored in the moisture-proof cabinet) and used within 6 months;

 

3. If the LED lamp beads have not been used for 6 months, it is recommended to increase the oven before using it again, and dehumidification is recommended (the recommended dehumidification condition is 60°C/24H);

 

4. After the packaging is unpacked, the unused LED lamp beads should be vacuumed and sealed again or placed in a moisture-proof cabinet, and it is forbidden to use transparent tape, staples, etc. for simple sealing;

 

5. Before using LED lamp beads, it is necessary to confirm whether the moisture-proof beads of the humidity card have discoloration. If the moisture-proof beads are more than or equal to 30% discoloration, increase oven baking and dehumidification before use (recommended de-heating conditions: 60°C/24H)

 

6. When the LED lamp beads are unpacked for SMT, they have been exposed to the workshop environment, and it is recommended that the workshop environment be controlled: the temperature < 30 °C, and the humidity is less than 60%rh;

 

7. In the wet season, for the light panels after Reflow (before assembling the lamps), it is recommended to place them in the workshop environment for 3-5 days.
