Is it true that the brightness of the LED display is as high as possible?
As a new type of light-emitting technology, LED is based on light-emitting diodes, and the characteristics of low energy consumption and high brightness are innate, so LED displays are becoming more and more popular. Not only that, when many businesses introduce LED screen products to users, they often take "low energy consumption and high brightness" as the killer feature, creating a "higher brightness, the better, the better value" cognition for users, is this really the case? In order to achieve a good energy-saving goal, in fact, we are too much in pursuit of high brightness, which is contrary to the energy-saving goal. So what is the potential relationship between "high brightness" and "high energy saving"?
Generally, the brightness range of indoor LED display is recommended to be about 800-1200cd/㎡, it is recommended not to exceed this range, and the brightness range of outdoor LED display is about 5000-6000cd/m2, which should not be too bright. The brightness of the LED display is not as high as possible, there should be a limit, for example, the maximum brightness of the outdoor LED display used is 6000cd/m2, but you have to adjust the brightness to 7000cd/m2, which is nothing more than increasing the driving current of the LED light. However, the physical characteristics of LED lamps will inevitably be damaged: high-brightness LED lamps are inevitably accompanied by high attenuation and low stability. High attenuation is not conducive to the long-term use requirements of LED displays, but also becomes a congenital defect that excessively pursues high brightness, and this congenital defect will damage the life and picture effect of LED display all the time and multiplier effect. It will further multiply the speed of its brightness attenuation, resulting in the later attenuation speed being accelerated by several times, becoming a display with high attenuation. Moreover, it exists in a vicious circle of brightness attenuation, which simply cannot meet the requirements of long-term use.
Not only that, but today, the problem of light pollution in cities around the world has become very serious, and many countries have even introduced laws and regulations to strictly control the brightness of outdoor lighting and display screens. LED display, as one of the higher brightness of many display technologies, has almost become the overlord of outdoor display, but once it is at night, the overly bright screen will become an invisible "pollution", therefore, the pursuit of brightness and environmental protection balance is more meaningful.
Finally, there is one more factor to consider, and that is cost. The pursuit of higher brightness alone will inevitably lead to an increase in the overall cost of the project, which means that users are likely to pay for more performance than they need, resulting in waste. Therefore, in the purchase of LED display, there is no need to listen to too many misunderstandings about the higher the brightness, the better the screen, the most important thing is to understand that the blind pursuit of brightness is meaningless, and even will cause the loss of image quality, life and cost.
