The refresh rate of the LED display refers to the number of times the display screen is repeated by the display screen per second, and the unit is Hz (hertz). The refresh rate is an important indicator that the LED display screen is stable and does not flicker. The higher the refresh rate of the LED display, the more stable the picture display, the smaller the visual flicker, and the better the protection of eyesight.
When using ordinary driver chips, the refresh rate can only reach 960Hz, while the use of dual latch driver chips can greatly improve the refresh rate of LED displays, and the use of high-definition high-end PWM driver chips can make the refresh rate of LED displays reach 3840Hz.
As long as the refresh rate of the LED display is higher than 960Hz, the human eye is basically indistinguishable. The full-color LED display screen of high brush and general brush is almost indistinguishable with the naked eye when playing videos and pictures, but it can be distinguished by shooting with mobile phones and high-definition cameras and video equipment.
The screen of the general brush will have water ripples when taking pictures with the mobile phone, and the picture will look like it is flickering, while the screen of the high brush will not have water ripples.
How much is the appropriate refresh rate of the LED display, it mainly depends on the use of the screen and the use environment. If it is an indoor full-color LED display, it can meet the needs with 1920Hz (general brush), if you want to use photography and video, then it is recommended to use 3840Hz high brush.
Generally, only when the refresh rate is greater than 2 times the shutter speed of the camera, the LED display will not appear water ripples. At the general shutter speed of 1/2000 second of the camera, the nearly 1000 refresh rate of the ordinary cross-flow driver IC and the 1920Hz refresh rate of the dual-latch driver IC are not enough to avoid water ripples, and only the high-definition high-end PWM driver IC with a refresh rate of more than 3840Hz can ensure that the LED display does not appear water ripples when taking pictures.
Nowadays, the frame change rate of movies is generally 24Hz, which means that there are only 24 frames in 1 second. Put the 24Hz frame rate movie on the LED display with a 3840Hz refresh rate, 3840/24 = 160 times, that is, each frame of the movie is refreshed by the display 160 times. With this refresh speed, the human eye cannot perceive the flickering of the picture, so the display is smoother and clearer.
