There are various types of LED displays, which can be categorized differently based on different classification criteria.

  1. Based on color: LED displays can be divided into three types: monochrome, bicolor, and full-color.

Monochrome display: This refers to a screen with only one type of light-emitting diode, usually red. Common applications include scrolling text screens for small shops, supermarkets, and corporate storefronts.

Bicolor display: This refers to screens with only two types of LEDs, typically red and green. Common applications include scrolling displays and advertising screens for small shops, supermarkets, and corporate storefronts.

Full-color display: This refers to screens made up of red, green, and blue LED light-emitting diodes. They can display full-color text, images, and videos, offering better visual effects, more features, and wider applications. The display products currently produced by Shenzhen Seetron Optoelectronics Co., Ltd. are all full-color high-definition displays.

2.Based on location, LED displays can be divided into indoor and outdoor types.

Indoor displays: These are screens installed indoors. Since the viewing distance is shorter indoors, the pixel pitch of indoor displays is generally smaller. Indoor environments have lower requirements for display brightness, waterproofing, dustproofing, wind resistance, etc. Common applications include conference rooms, shopping malls, sports arenas, studios, security monitoring, etc.

Outdoor displays refer to screens installed in outdoor environments. In such settings, viewing distances tend to be longer, so larger pixel pitch screens offer better value for money. Due to strong sunlight outdoors, the display brightness needs to be higher. Additionally, various harsh conditions may occur, such as high winds, heavy rain, extreme temperatures, high salinity, lightning, dust, corrosion, and rusting. Therefore, outdoor displays must have significantly higher protective performance compared to indoor ones. Common applications include outdoor advertising screens, street lamp screens, and traffic information boards.

3.According to usage, LED displays can be divided into rental and fixed types.

Rental displays: As the name suggests, rental displays are screens rented to customers. Rental displays need to be frequently moved and transported, so they require easy installation, disassembly, light weight, and stability. Common application scenarios include stage performances, concert stages, and large events.

Fixed display screens: These are displays that are permanently installed in a specific location. Such displays have high requirements for structural stability and protection. The MV series is currently the main outdoor fixed screen promoted by Leyard OptoX.

4.According to packaging: LED displays can be divided into three types: DIP (Through-hole), SMD (Surface-mount), and COB (Chip-on-board).

DIP packaging is an abbreviation for dual inline-pin package, commonly known as plug-in display.

SMD packaging stands for Surface Mounted Devices, which means surface mount components.

COB packaging is short for Chip On Board, literally meaning chips placed on the board. It is a new type of packaging technology different from DIP and SMD, representing the future trend in LED chip packaging.

5.According to specific functions: LED displays can be divided into various types such as pole screens, floor tiles screens, grid screens, transparent screens, flexible screens, irregular screens, stage screens, traffic screens, sports screens, advertising screens, etc.

Pole screens: These refer to displays installed on street lamps along roadsides, streets, squares, parks, etc. With the rapid advancement of smart cities nationwide, the widespread adoption of smart pole screens is imminent. In addition to having the typical performance of regular displays, smart pole screens also need to meet the requirements of smart city construction, such as video surveillance, remote communication, environmental quality monitoring, broadcasting, and scheduling.

Floor tile screens refer to displays installed on the floor. These displays require high load-bearing capacity. Vision Glory has launched its second-generation floor tile screen series, DF, which can support up to 2.5 tons. Additionally, it is equipped with pressure sensors, enabling interactive features between users and the screen, providing customers with dynamic floor display experiences.

Transparent screen: This refers to a display with visual penetration performance. The most important performance indicator of a transparent screen is its transparency or clarity. The AM series transparent screens launched by Visionox have a visual penetration rate of up to 75%, which is at the leading level in the industry.

Flexible screens refer to displays that can achieve flexible bending and multi-radius curved installations. The SF series of flexible screens launched by Visionox can be quickly installed without any tools, allowing for various creative curved screens such as inner curves, outer curves, and irregular arc shapes. The SF series of flexible screens continuously strive to realize customers' creative display needs.

Stage screens, sports screens, advertising screens, traffic screens, etc., can be achieved with standard display panels, or they can be improved for specific functions to create new product lines.
