As LED displays become more and more common, there are more and more interfaces for LED large-screen splicing/processors.Following is a few of them for your reference:

 

DVI

DVI interface is larger than VGA, HDMI, DP and other interfaces, and is currently the most important type of LED display interface.
Its biggest advantage is that the speed is fast and the picture is clear, the transmission of DVI is a digital signal, without going through the digital→ analog → digital cumbersome conversion process, which greatly saves time, and effectively eliminates the phenomenon of smearing while speeding up. Compared with VGA, DVI has a more delicate picture at high resolution and is not easily interfered with by signals.

 

VGA
The VGA connector has 15 pins and 3 rows of 5 holes each, and is present with most LED splices/processors, which transmit red, green, and blue analog signals as well as synchronization signals (horizontal and vertical signals).
Many people think that only the HDMI interface can transmit high-definition signals, and sometimes this is a misunderstanding, because the connection through VGA can also display 1080P images, and even the resolution can reach higher.

 

HDMI
In December 2002, the HDMI high-definition multimedia interface organization officially released the HDMI 1.0 standard, marking the official entry of HDMI technology into the historical stage.
HDMI can not only meet the resolution of 1080P, but also support digital audio formats. Compared with DVI and VGA, the HDMI interface is smaller in size, but because its port is smaller and has no reinforcement device, it is easier to loosen, so the use of LED splicing/processor is currently not as extensive as DVI and VGA.

 

SDI
The SDI interface is a "digital component serial interface" that uses coaxial cable and a BNC interface as the cable standard. That is to say, in the process of converting the existing traditional analog frame system to a high-definition monitoring system, we do not need to re-wiring, and only need to replace the front-end and back-end parts, which will save huge time and labor costs for the project. Therefore, in recent years, the use of LED splicing/processors has gradually increased.

 

DisplayPort
Abbreviated as DP, when high-definition video is about to become popular, it is impossible to gain a foothold without a high-bandwidth display interface. At the beginning of its existence, DP could provide a bandwidth of up to 10.8Gb/s, even HDMI 1.3 provided a slightly lower bandwidth than DP1.0, and DP can achieve more functions on a single cable in addition to the common cable for audio and video signals. It is undoubtedly to achieve maximum integration and control of peripheral equipment.
However, due to the limitations of various aspects, the DP interface is still not the mainstream interface of LED splicing/processor, but its superior transmission quality, high scalability, and more reliable content protection technology will be a new trend.
